Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, is a surgical procedure where a doctor will harvest the fat cells from one area of the body with excess adipose tissue such as the stomach and the thighs, and transfer it to another part of the body. It’s performed to fill in areas where you’re lacking fullness.
The fat is removed gently through a process similar to liposuction. Once removed, the fat will go through a purification process and prepped to be reinjected into a specific area of the body. The most common areas treated with fat grafting include the malar region, tear trough under the eye, lips, nasolabial folds and more.
Fat grafting can help give you a softer, more natural looking improvement to your appearance. You can learn more about the process by contacting Omaha Face Plastic Surgery and MedSpa to schedule your consultation.
