What is ClearScan YAG?
ClearScan Yag is a laser treatment specifically designed to address redness, vascular lesions, as well as pigment in the skin. It is a non-ablative therapy, meaning that the overlying skin is left intact, and the laser goes deep to the target area.
What conditions can ClearScan YAG address?
This laser therapy is capable of treating a number of conditions including:
- Facial veins
- Rosacea and redness
- Vascular malformations and birthmarks
- Unwanted deep pigmented lesions
- Unwanted hair
- Spider veins
- Broken capillaries
What does treatment involve?
Treatment with the laser starts with a good exam of the area to be treated. Eye protection is then placed, and the area is then treated with a variable number of passes of the laser. In most cases there is no swelling or bruising. The sensation is often described as a mild rubber band against the skin, and is short lived. If veins are being treated, there is often immediate disappearance of the vessel, with only some redness left behind which typically resolves within 24 hours.
What is recovery like?
For darker and deeper lesions, there may be some mild blistering, but it usually resolves within a week. If pigmented areas are treated, these may appear paradoxically darker for a couple of weeks before gradually fading. Larger or deeper blood vessels may take several weeks to resorb, and it is not uncommon to require more than one treatment. After-treatment care is usually very straight-forward with gentle moisturizers and sun avoidance being the most important.
What does Vein Reduction cost?
The cost of vein reduction depends on the area treated and number of treatments required.
