What is the surgery like?

A lip lift can be done in our office under local anesthesia in approximately one hour.
Dr Harbison will make a small incision along the base of the nose and remove a small amount of skin.
This raises the position of the lips and increases the extent of pink visible in the upper lip.
The incision is well hidden in the curves beneath the nose, and great care is taken in this procedure to avoid scarring.

How long is the recovery?

You can expect to have mild swelling of the lips for approximately seven days. One week after the procedure, Dr Harbison will remove the stitches. Pain is minimal with this surgery and can be controlled with oral medications. Plan to rest for 24 hours after a lip lift. Avoid strenuous exercise or sleeping on your face and brush your teeth carefully during your recovery.
