What is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty or “liquid” rhinoplasty utilizes dermal fillers to temporarily reshape the nose. During the procedure, Dr. Harbison will meticulously place filler to create a smoother, straighter nose. The results are immediate and last between 9-12 months depending on the filler used.

What Issues Can Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Address?

Surgery is usually able to accomplish more dramatic results than non-surgical procedures, but with rhinoplasty, you can still achieve the aesthetic shape you’re looking for. Dermal fillers are able to: 

  • Reduce a hump or bump on the nasal bridge
  • Raise a flat nasal bridge
  • Correct concavities
  • Create balance and symmetry of the nose
  • Refine the nasal tip

What Does Dermal Filler Rhinoplasty Involve?

The procedure takes a few minutes and you may return to normal activities immediately following the procedure.

You may have some bruising and swelling around the nose, but this will typically disappear shortly after leaving our office.

Post Procedure Care

  • Avoid applying pressure to the bridge of your nose for 2 week. Please refrain from wearing glasses.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for the rest of the day. It may dilate the blood vessels and cause bruising.
  • Avoid medications that thin the blood (ex: ibuprofen, aspirin) for 24 hours after the procedure. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is ok.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Most individuals who seek out non-surgical rhinoplasty are interested in changing their appearance, but they aren’t interested in surgery. Other candidates include those who have previously undergone traditional rhinoplasty, but who may not be completely satisfied with the results. Fillers can be used to correct irregularities without the need for revision rhinoplasty. Fillers are also a good way to “try on” rhinoplasty without having the permanent commitment of surgery. If you decide you like the outcome, you are able to opt for traditional rhinoplasty in the future.
