Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a skin treatment using a device that creates tiny channels in the skin. The device has super-fine needles programmed to enter the skin at a precise depth. Several passes are made over the treatment area. Specialized skin enhancing nutrients can be applied following the treatment, flowing down the micro-channels to feed the skin structure.

What is the microneedling treatment like to experience?
The technique of automatic medical microneedling is known to trigger skin remodeling by creating thousands of microscopic channels in the epidermis to stimulate new tissue growth by activating the body’s natural wound healing cascade (hemostasis, inflammation, fibroblast proliferation, and tissue remodeling). The microneedling triggers the release of growth factors that promote healing and the development of fresh, new collagen. The net result is softening wrinkles, along with younger, tighter skin.
Natural collagen production means firmer, healthier skin.
Microneedling sends a signal to your skin to regenerate. With added growth factors, which are found in abundance in PRP, the results are dramatically enhanced. The PRP can flow into your skin through the micro-channels, triggering a wound healing cascade. Your skin has the capacity to regenerate, and with this technique, your skin can be significantly improved in tone, texture, and firmness.
What can I expect?
Treatments are reasonably easy to experience with minimal discomfort. The procedure will take about 30 minutes but can vary based on the size of the areas treated. After your microneedling procedure, your skin will appear red, as if you have a mild sunburn. You may experience mild swelling, which can last into the second day, but typically resolves within 48 hours.
Your skin will have an immediate glow. Keep your skin cleansed as directed, and closely follow the prescribed post-treatment skin regimen. You are free to apply makeup the day after a microneedling treatment. It is best to avoid any anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen). The treatment works by signaling the skin to regenerate due to inflammation, and these medications could reduce the healing effect.
How often can I have microneedling?
Treatments are usually performed at one-month intervals. This allows the healing to progress sufficiently before triggering a new cascade of skin regeneration. The number of treatments needed to see results varies from patient to patient, but you may notice improvement after just one treatment.
How much does Microneedling cost?
- Microneedling $350
- Microneedling (series of 3) $800
- Microneedling with growth factors $500
- Microneedling with growth factors (series of 3) $1,300
