Men choose to undergo plastic surgery in ever-increasing numbers. One of the most popular procedures we perform at Omaha Face is a custom male nose job. Men who are unhappy with the size, shape, or width of the nose can subtly but dramatically improve their appearance with a male nose job performed by our double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Harbison.
Omaha Face – We understand what men want.
A male rhinoplasty at Omaha Face is a procedure that starts with careful surgical planning to achieve the most attractive, balanced result. Your procedure will be customized to reflect the aesthetic issues that bother you about your nose. The ideal balance will appear masculine, strong, and sculpted and will leave you with a more attractive facial appearance. The changes in your nose shape and breathing function may require either an open or closed technique.
- Open surgery: For more extensive changes to the nose shape, an open technique may be appropriate. In this surgery, an incision is placed at the base of the columella, the strip of tissue between your nostrils. This allows our surgeon full access to the nose structure.
- Closed surgery: For less dramatic changes in your nose shape, your male nose job may be performed with a closed technique. In this approach, all the corrections are made from within the nostrils, which is essentially a scarless procedure.
Surgical planning and choosing the ideal nose shape for you
You have a unique facial structure, and reshaping your nose requires an understanding of the most attractive facial balance. Our 3D imaging system will allow you to “try on” the changes so you know what to expect. You can choose the corrections you and our surgeon agree are most attractive for your face, with nose reshaping performed on male patients 17 and older. The changes you envision will guide Dr. Harbison’s surgical planning.
Are you ready to look more attractive?
You may be considering rhinoplasty for various reasons, including:
- Nose too large
- Nose too wide
- Hanging tip
- Hump on bridge
- Breathing function problems
- Overly large or wide nostrils
- Flat nose bridge
- Broken nose
Before & After
View GalleryWhat is the recovery like?
You should plan to take one to two weeks off work, although many men feel well enough to return to work in one week. If you have a more vigorous job, you may need longer to recover, as the nose must be protected from impact until the tissues have settled into place. You will need to sleep with your head elevated on extra pillows or a wedge and avoid lifting or bending over. You can return to activities in one to two weeks, though you will need to continue to protect your newly reshaped nose from impact for four to six weeks. Swelling and bruising fade within a few weeks. Initially, your nose will be stuffed up, and you will have splints and a cast to protect it and hold it in shape, which are removed, along with any stitches, in about a week.
